Liang Yi Museum is pleased to co-present our January edition of Liang Yi Talks with the Asian Cultural Council (ACC), featuring Angus Ngai (ACC 2013 Fellow) as the speaker. He was awarded the ACC Fellowship in 2013 and conducted research on architecture in the United States. Angus is the CEO of Jia Culture Research Foundation. With a background in furniture design and architecture, Angus's research also focuses on Chinese philosophy, and his work seeks to incorporate the aesthetics, culture and values of Chinese philosophy into contemporary designs .

In this lecture, Angus will provide an overview of how ancient timber architectures were constructed, and explore the functions and artistic values of dougong, - a type of supporting structure unique to ancient traditional Chinese architecture.
