In 2013, a 10-inch coffee pot made by the Huguenot silversmith Paul de Lamerie 1738, sold for US$7 million at auction. In a world going crazy for modern and contemporary art, could investing in silver antiques be the smarter choice? Alice Bleuzen, Deputy Director of Silver & Vertu at Sotheby's, investigates the diverse forms and styles of British silver from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Drawing on her experience with Sotheby's, Alice also discusses the current market for silver in Britain and Asia, providing valuable insights into contemporary approaches to collecting silver.
